Call for proposals: Designing for Values

Announcements for members
Call for proposals: Designing for Values

The Delft Design for Values institute is reaching out to its members to submit a proposal for seed funding for interdisciplinary collaborative activities, preferably cross-faculty. The overall aim of the seed funding program is to increase the impact of design for values research and education at TU Delft.

Objectives

The Delft Design for Values institute aims to achieve this by the development of a DDfV methods collection that can be used in practice and education, and by establishing Special Interest Groups (SIG’s). This could for example be a SIG around a certain value (e.g. Designing for Justice, -well-being, human autonomy), or around a method (e.g. Co-design and participatory design), or around a domain (e.g. values operationalized in the AI act) or around education on design for values. Proposals should demonstrate that the suggested project will contribute to this.

Types of Proposals

We welcome submissions in one of the following categories:

Tooling and Guidance

Developing or making available specific Design for Values methods, including practical guidance for how to apply those in practice and/or education. The results of the proposed projects should contribute to the Value Language & Methodology Project of the DDfV institute.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Join forces in research and collaborations! The topic can be based on any topic that is of relevant to Design for Values, but we particularly encourage proposals on the following themes: Designing for) Justice, -Human Autonomy, Co-design and participatory design; values operationalized in the AI act or education on design for values. Please also explain how you would like to align with the DDfV core team. We have capacity available within the team for alignment and support.

Wildcard
