Out now: Second episode of ‘corona/ethics’ podcast!

We are very happy to announce that the second podcast in our podcast series “corona/ethics” is now online! The monthly podcasts are concerned with the ethical reflection on diverse COVID-19 measures. In this series, we ask philosophers from 4TU to consider how the pandemic challenges practices and institutions and how ethical reflection can provide a better understanding of these challenges and the responses to them.

The podcast series is managed by Steffen Steinert, with hands-on work activities (including podcast cutting and editing) by research assistant Patrick Lödige. The series is an initiative of 4TU.Ethics in conjunction with DDfV and is part of the Working Group on the COVID-19 Crisis. The working group was initiated by dr. Matthew Dennis and prof. Jeroen van den Hoven (TU Delft) with the support of a coordinating team. The podcast series “corona/ethics” is an important outreach activity of the group.

This second episode in the series is called “Corona and Science” and features Bas de Boer as host. The guest is Mieke Boon, Full Professor at the Philosophy Department University of Twente. The 60 minutes podcast discusses scientific practice, the problem of uncertainty in science, and the importance of models for a scientific understanding of the Corona pandemic. Scientific literacy, interdisciplinary research, and vaccination is also adressed.

The fascinating podcast is available here: https://anchor.fm/4tuethicspodcast. You can listen there or switch to other platforms, like Spotify, where the podcast can be found by searching ‘corona/ethics’.
