SIG: Ethics and Design of Good Influence

The SIG Ethics of and Design for Good Influence investigates how technologies and institutions shape human behavior, focusing on influence that supports rather than undermines autonomy. Building on an active TU Delft initiative, it explores ethical boundaries between legitimate and manipulative influence, clarifies influence types, and develops design tools for ethically responsible practices. The group spans faculties (TPM, IDE, EEMCS, Architecture) and collaborates with external partners in health, civic tech, policy, and design. Activities include interdisciplinary workshops, collaborative projects, and educational development, with the aim of advancing value-sensitive design that integrates ethics into technological innovation.
