Perceptual breakdown during a global pandemic: introducing phenomenological insights for digital mental health purposes is about people having to turn to digital tools to cope with their experiences of anxiety and loss in times of COVID-19. A specific type of loss caused by the Covid-19 pandemic is identified; loss of perceptual world-familiarity. It is presented as an import concept for digital mental health services (DMH)

Author Dr. J.B. (Janna) van Grunsven is an assistant Professor in ethics and philosophy of technology.
Furthermore, she is a researcher on the 4TU.CEE funded COMET project, the university-wide coordinator of TU Delft’s ethics and philosophy of technology education, member of the steering committee of the “Ethics Special Interest Group” and on the editorial board of the International Journal of Technoethics.
