Corona and value change. The role of social media and emotional contagion discusses how the Coronavirus motivates people to post emotional content on social media. It considers an important perspective in thinking about the ethical long-term impact of social media technology; the impact of social media in terms of emotional contagion and a longer-lasting value change.

Author Dr. S. (Steffen) Steinert is a member of the Ethics and Philosophy of Technology section at TU Delft. Before this, he was a researcher in a project on ethical, social and legal implications of brain-computer interfaces, had published papers on roboethics, art and technology, and philosophy of science. His previous research explored philosophical issues related to humor and amusement.
